Day 1 Arrival in Passau
The historical town centre or a tour of the Veste Oberhaus set the mood for your holiday.

Day 2 Boat trip, Kasten- Ascahch, 50 km / 31 mi
The Danube Valley becomes tight, high and steep, Engelszell Abbey lies at the heart of this sparsely populated area.

Day 3 Aschach - Linz, 30 km/19 mi
After cycling though lots of nature you will reach the 2009 cultural capital Linz, which has a beautiful historical town centre and modern museums.

Day 4 Linz - Bad Kreuzen, 55 km/34 mi
Beautiful meadow landscapes and wide orchards line the cycle path from the Mostviertel to the Strudengau.

Day 5 Bad Kreuzen - Melk,  50 km/31 mi
While the Struden- and Niebelungengau landscapes are rough, the Baroque Abbey Melk is beautiful and mellow.

Day 6 Melk - Dürnkirchen, 30 km/19 mi
Take your time to explore the Wachau Region, where one idyllic wine village comes after the next.

Day 7 Dürnstein - Tulln, 50 km/31mi, train ride
Krems and the Roman city of Tulln are places worth seeing. From there train ride to Vienna. Magnificent buildings of the imperial era tell an impressive story of times long past. Immerse yourself in the imperial charm that the city spreads.

Day8 Departure or extension

  • Parking in Passau:
    There are many long-term parking spots available at Passau train station and on the outskirts of Passau. They are multi-storey car parks, individual garages or fenced in parking spots. Costs approx. 35-70 €/week. You can find further information in the travel documents.
     
  • Arrival in Passau via train:
    From the train station to the hotels in the old town it takes about 15 minutes on foot. The hotels in the Inn district are approx. 2,5 kilometers from the train station. We recommend taking a taxi, costs approx. 10 €.
  • Arrival at Munich airport:
    Distance to Passau approx. 160 km, excellent train connections, journey takes approx. 2,5 hours.
    Train ticket price per person: approx. 25 €
    Rental car, one way per vehicle: 130 - 180 €

  • Arrival at Vienna airport:
    Distance to Passau approx. 310 km, excellent train connections, journey takes approx. 3 hours.
    Train ticket price per person: approx. 60 €

    Collection at hotel, departure approx. 8-9 am, duration approx. 4 hours, must be booked together with holiday. The transfer Vienna-Passau can also take place at the beginning of the trip.

    Good connections via Vienna main train station (Wien Hauptbahnhof), change trains 1x, duration approx. 2,5 - 3 hours. You must reserve own bikes several days in advance (not included). The transfer Vienna-Passau can also take place at the beginning of the trip.
